I am a Greek graphic designer, more of a design addict, experienced in identities and print media, experimenting with illustrations, hybrids and objects.
During working for creative studios in both London and Athens, I kept doing freelance work. Out of pure luck I set up Kanella, an online portfolio with my strange birth name.
I am currently teaching at TEI of Athens and expanding as Kanella.
Mandala is a center of holistic psychology. The approach of each session aims to balance the four pillars that compose the human existence in its entirety: the conscious, the body, the soul and the spirit.
Mandala is also the Sanskrit word for “circle” and symbolizes completion, in an attempt to freely adapt the term.
Both approach and translation were used for the concept behind the logo.
The conscious element is depicted using the rectangular shape of the logic and the outline of the leaves that unfold with the help of imagination.
The body element is translated into the yoga pose, simplified in its basic outline with the use of intertwined triangles.
The image of interconnected arcs was used to represent the soul element.
Finally, the spirit is symbolized using two triangles shapes in rotation, which evoke the sentiment of balance.
All the aforementioned graphic instances were combined into the final logo; The four circles, representing the four pillars and the circles simultaneously.
I was responsible for the brand identity of Sophie Deloudi swimwear. Her first collection shouts sophistication and empowering feminine style. The brand identity incorporates those elements into a logo that transforms the brand’s initials (SD) into a female body wearing a bikini.
